Simple and Delicious Naan Bread

Who doesn’t love fresh baked bread straight out of the oven? Naan bread is vegan and grain free, and it a perfect accompaniment for butter chicken or as a base for homemade pizzas.

Delicious Naan Bread


Ingredients


Here's what you need:

  • 5 tablespoons of Whole Psyllium Husks (not powdered- use the whole ones)

  • 4 large eggs

  • ¾ cup of heavy coconut milk

  • 1/3 cup of melted ghee butter or coconut oil

  • ½ cup of coconut flour

  • 1 cup of tapioca starch or potatoes starch

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

  • Optional: smoked paprika, dried herbs like thyme or basil



Directions


Here's how you make it:

  1. Add eggs to bowl and mix with fork.

  2. Add coconut cream (leave out coconut water, which you can freeze in ice cube tray for future use), and melted butter – mix.

  3. Next, add husks mix. Add flour mix, apple cider vinegar and garlic powder. Stir quickly and be careful not to overmix. Dough does not need to rest.

  4. Form 5-6 balls with mixture, and flatten it into patties.

  5. Optional: melt one teaspoon of butter and brush over bread, add dried herbs and/or salt/sesame seeds/poppy seeds, etc.

  6. Bake in the oven for 10-15 min.

  7. After 10 min flip and bake 5 more min until golden.

  8. Serve hot.


Store leftovers in a sealed bag or container at room temperature to heat up at a later day. Will last up to three days.
